A.P.C. was born out of opposing the ostentatious fashion trends of Paris which were incredibly significant at the time as well as the designer's distaste for ill-fitting clothing. Created by Jean Touitou in 1987, A.P.C. is a French clothing brand, authentic and accessible by way of its style, prices and philosophy. While A.P.C. first gained renown for its classic jeans in raw denim, the brand now offers a complete collection of men's and women's clothing and accessories that embodies a simple, casual elegance. Jean Touitou works with his wife, Judith Touitou, artistic director of A.P.C.
The brand stands for Atelier de Production et de Création which translates into production and creation workshop in English. The ‘ready to wear’ brand was initially founded by Mr. Jean Touitou in 1987. Specialising in minimalist designs, it is renowned for its clean lines and simplistic patterns. Also renowned for their raw-denim selvedge amongst denim enthusiasts A.P.C. is a well-known brand within the French capital.
