Dickies is undoubtedly one of the founding fathers of American style - up there with Levi's and Carhartt. Founded in 1918, the brand started out producing overalls and other garments to the blue-collar American and before long, became the standard for workwear in American society thanks to their unbeatable build quality and long-lasting products.
Going on to be one of the main suppliers of uniforms for the American military as well as civilian clothing during the war effort of the 1930s - Dickies were a household name. In 1967 they released their 874 Original Work Pant with what is now their proprietary fabric - a durable cotton/poly blend that was highly resistant to abrasion and staining that is now a standard for the company today.
The brand have since expanded their range with updated fits of their famous trousers, shorts, t-shirts and more and they still sell the original products that put them on the map.
