A mutual interest in the intertwining of contemporary culture and traditional craftsmanship brings Fred Perry and Nicholas Daley together to create a collection celebrating counterculture. The debut collection is based on the continuation of the SLYGO story, Nicholas' homage to his family's role in the emergence of the reggae sound system culture in Britain. SLYGO takes its name from Nicholas' father's DJ alias and draws direct inspiration from his parents' club night known as the Reggae Klub which ran from 1978-1982 in and around Scotland.
Fred Perry's collaboration with Nicholas Daley focuses on sportswear inspired pieces that have British subculture at the heart of them. Continuing on Nicholas Daley's SLYGO story which pays homage to his family's role in the emergence of reggae culture in Britain and drawing on the heritage of Fred Perry the collab fits comfortably into the history and heritage of both brand and designer.
Fred Perry x Nicholas Daley - Stylists Notes
The collab draws on vintage sportswear and includes track suits in seasonal colours and also includes colourful additions such as the open collar striped shirt which takes clear inspiration from Daley's heritage. The parka is a stand out piece and comes in a more muted colourway with corduroy detailing. Great casual wear that appears timeless.
