Style Code: S-SVR-NEC Colour: Silver
The Silver Saviour Necklace has been finished with an extreme oxidisation for a rough, matte texture making it appear as though it has been dug fresh from the ground. The necklace is made from 925 Sterling Silver, and is hallmarked by the London Assay Office verifying its quality.
The ancient Romans had a 3 types of coin, based on what material they were made from; Gold, Silver or Brass. Coins that were made of Silver were called a Denarius, which is what this necklace is inspired by. This necklace pendant is a direct replica of the tails side of the Vespasian coin, an emperor from A.D 69 - A.D 79. The coin depicts the heads of Vespasian's two sons, Titus & Domitian. Titus was emperor from A.D 79 - A.D 81 and is best known for completing the Colosseum and for his generosity in relieving the suffering caused by the eruption of Mount Vesuvius and a fire in Rome in 80. Domitian succeeded his brother Titus and was emperor from A.D 81 - A.D 96 making him the longest serving ruler since Tiberius (59 years & 8 emperors prior). Domitian's government exhibited strong authoritarian characteristics & himself was known to be a ruthless but efficient ruler.
