Mystery Ranch make bags with comfort, quality and durability. With a strong heritage behind the brand, they have been manufacturing for over 20 years. The brand first began supplying bags for the military, for hunting, wildland fire and mountaineers earning their bags the reputation for being hardwearing and durable as well as functional. Based in Bozeman, Montana, their first customers hold testament to the quality of these bags – built for adventure.
Owners Dana Gleason and Renee Sippel-Baker built their reputation for excellence from their first company Dana Design, where the load carrying technology in their backpacks became the industry standard. After selling the company in 1995 at the height of their popularity, in retirement, they found that they still had a yearning to create and after Dana's daughter asked him to make her a hip bag he soon found there were plenty of designs still waiting to be made.
They founded Mystery Ranch in 2000 and continued to innovate - the hip bag made for Dana's daughter becoming the basis of their patented lumbar wrap technology. In 2004, the brand were approached by the NAVY SEALs for custom packs to made starting a relationship that expanded the range and expertise of the brand significantly.
