Founded by G.A. Krause as a small leather tannery based in Michigan in 1883 Wolverine has become a synonymous name down the years for those on the look out for a high-quality, long lasting pair of work boots. Originally producing footwear and gloves the brand quickly gained a reputation in the US for comfort and touchness, reaching the point in 1903 where they had to relocate to their current factory base in Rockford - where they are still based today - as they were producing in excess 300 boots a day.
In 1914 Wolverine released its first 1000 Mile Boot. Getting its name from an advertising campaign used which stated "Our Boots are guaranteed for 1000 miles or your money back" the model remains the central focus to the label's operations to this day with the model firmly embedded within American culture bringing with it a reputation for comfort and longevity to the Wolverine work boots, both of which form a wider part of the brands ethos.
