Trilby Hats

Once the hat of favour for the gentry, the Trilby is aesthetically similar to the Fedora, differing with a shorter brim that is angled down at the front and is turned up at the back. Also featuring a shorter crown, this season's collection of men's Trilby Hats at Dandy Fellow comes courtesy of world renowned hat maker Stetson.

Getting its name to George du Naurier's stage adaptation of the novel Trilby, the Trilby Hat reached its high of popularity in the 60's due to its lower crown making it more practical than other types of hat for driving. Famed for its short brim silhouette that points down at the front and up at the back it is traditionally made from animal felts, although it also became popular in other materials such as Tweed, Straw and Wool.
