Anonymous Ism
The Japanese sock brand Anonymous Ism has its roots in small_scale artisan sock_making: its founder began by producing socks for other companies, using vintage 1970s knitting machines salvaged in Japan, which allowed for complex textures and rich patterns that standard mass_manufacturing couldn't match. After several seasons doing contract work, the brand launched its own line in 2002, gradually building a reputation for socks that blend traditional Japanese textile techniques with influences from marine, military, workwear and historical Japanese art. Anonymous Ism remains committed to craftsmanship and sustainability - many of their socks are still woven in Japan, often using organic, recycled or specialty yarns, and their designs balance durability, comfort and distinct style rather than following fast_fashion trends.
