The History of The Vest

Invented in England during the reign of Charles II. One Samuel Pepys had entered in his diary that the King made an official statement that he would be starting off a new fashion, the Vest. He achieved that. In the years since Vests have become a popular menswear garment all over the world, becoming an essential additional layer in colder climates and a single layer in warm climates such as India. To mark the vests durability it is often worn underneath a shirt to help protect it from ageing.
