Remy Richard-Pontvert, who named the company, returned from a trip to America back in 1926 with shoes named overboots which featured rubber covers that were used to protect the shoes in wet weather. This allowed him the idea to sell the rubber shoes but with the latex imported directly from Brazil. He pioneered his own formula for the rubber, thus the brand Paraboot was born.
