Stylist Notes

The Cat’s Pajamas Selvedge is an 8.5oz Japanese selvedge denim inspired by early 20th-century workwear and 1920s reproduction fabrics, with its name drawn from vintage slang meaning something exceptional. Woven in a soft indigo with a subtle beige weft, it offers a warm, authentic, aged look, complemented by a traditional white selvedge edge. Although lightweight by modern standards, it closely reflects period-correct denim once considered heavyweight, making it ideal for spring and summer wear without sacrificing structure. Finished with a reinforced paper patch and tin buttons, it stays true to historical construction and detailing.
