Stylist Notes

Originally designed by Fredin the 1960s, the knitted shirt bridged the gap between sport and streetwear. Like the Fred Perry Shirt, its true-knit counterpart is breathable and comfortable for sport, but sharp enough to wear off-court, its versatility appealing to countless subcultures over the years. Here, their combed cotton shirt features a blown-up iteration of one of their archive argyle designs - a pattern with roots firmly grounded in traditional Scotland and later adopted as a symbol of working-class defiance in the 1980s and beyond. Today, the pattern can be found across the worlds of sport and counterculture - a celebration of both individuality and togetherness.
